Creative Memories January Virtual Crop

 I am so happy to have been able to participate in the virtual crop that Creative Memories hosted on Facebook.  I decided to make this weekend like a normal crop and be "away" from Friday at Noon until Sunday evening.  I used the time to participate in the CM challenges, I was able to complete all 6 challenges and get them posted to the FB group in time. I only used digital paper from CM and the packs are listed with each sketch.

Sketch #1 - #CMVirtualCrop1Jan2022

 Vitamin Sea & Snowbound for the "sand"

Sketch #2 - #CMVirtualCrop2Jan2022

Botton & middle layer

Bottom layer on right hand side

For sketch #2 it took a ton of time, I got into making the pages. I will be printing the pages then layering the pages using peek-a-boo pockets and an 8x8 page protector to make an interactive layout.  It I cut everything just right the background will match up. I used only Snowbound for these layouts.

Sketch #3 - #CMVirtualCrop3Jan2022

Sparks of Magic & a Mickey Image

I absolutely ADORE Mickey and all things Disney.  I am going to be doing an entire book just on our Disney Vacations. I have 1000's of photos to sort and scrap from Disney.

Sketch #4 - #CMVirtualCrop4Jan2022

Book Smarts & Love Each Other 2

Sketch #5 - #CMVirtualCrop5Jan2022

Sketch #6 - #CMVirtualCrop6Jan2022

Halloween Cutie - CM Full Moon

Today in preparation for the upcoming virtual crop that Creative Memories is hosting on January 14th & 15th I decided to get some of CM's digital paper packs.  I played around using Full Moon as the main kit.  I do have a thing for Halloween. I did bring in a border from the Totally Tonal Red & Orange and I layered a photo mat from Sparks of Magic to make the black paper stretch across the page.  I am not sure who will be in the photos, but I do like it. I will add it to a file for base pages.  It has a spot for 1 5x7, 1 4x6, & 2 2x3's.

I do like digital scrapbooking. I didn't have to worry about not having the right size die cut, not having enough of an element or too many, the only thing is I don't have the ability to use my specific tools to shape my papers. I will definitely be going digital for doing our Disney vacations. I have so many photos to do and have just been putting off because making 3 coordinating pages uses SOOOO many supplies. I have tons of bits and bobs from all the kits I have used that I don't have enough to make a set of pages for us. I am sorta kicking myself in the rear for not starting earlier with digital, how many kits that I would have liked but missed out on.

I will be adding this to Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge.  I honestly did not expect to work with the Halloween kit first but that is the one that drew me.

Incy Wincy Challenge

I was browsing PaperPlayful and came across the Incy Wincy Design Challenge while I was pondering how & what to with this challenge, either pastels or the sketch.  I came across my pouch with Stamps of Life Hippo2Stamp & Die set with the matching Solids4Hippos Stamp.

I decided to use the sketch along with the stamp set to make a birthday card and coordinating envelope.  I did use pastels, but they were not the ones that were in the colorway.

The card base is cut from a piece of Cherry cardstock.

The blue polka dot paper is cut at 4" x 5.25"
The tag/banner is approximately 1.25" x 4" cut with a notch

Counterfeit Kit - On the Go & Going Slow (Traci Reed Designs)

 In the Counterfeit Kit Challenge January the kit that was picked is On the Go & Going Slow by Traci Reed Designs

When I saw the kit I knew I had a bunch or stamps & dies that would work.  I browsed through my paper binders and landed on a Quick Quotes paper kit - Sweetbriar, few papers from Hobby Lobby, and scraps from Quick Quotes from Let's Party, #essential, Farmhouse & Tapestry.  I normally like to use dies or stamps for my alphas, but I am adding some of the alpha stickers that are in my stash. I do have my enamel/epoxy shapes, wood, & mixed media in an easy access place when working so I did not add them in the kit.

What I have in my kit is

The dies I have included are

From Stephanie Barnard and the Stamps of Life

In the “Bee” pouch I have a few coordinating sets

               *Bee4Me

               *Hives4Bees

               *Bee Die Set

               * Bee Triplits (Sizzix-559605)

               *MiniHexagonBackground Stamp

               *Hexagons2Love Stamp & Die Set

               * Cloud & Hexagon Stencil

In the Butterfly Pouch

    * Butterfly Fold-It

    * Butterfly2Stamp & Die Set

    *  Patterns4Butterfly Stamp Set

In the Jar Pouch

    *Jar2Stamp & Die Set

    * Sayings4jar Stamp Set

I only have the dies for the snail from Stamps of Life it came free in one of my Die-Hard Club sets. I never was sure if I would use it be now, I am going to get the matching stamp sets.  (Like I really need an incentive to order more)

 I also included the stamp set “Thanks4OneYear” from Stamps of Life

The only non-Stamps of life is Skelton Leaves by Tim Holtz & Sizzix -663094. It is one of my go-to dies when I am working with any florals.  The only thing I wish I could find would be a smaller set and a larger set. We'll have to see what I can make this month.

Hello 2022!

 This year I am determined to use my stash up and organize my supplies a bit better.  Ever since Totally Tiffany came out with the Kirstin Buddy Bag, I knew I had found out my solution to keeping things organized.  Somehow, I don't think I am the only one. They are almost always sold out.  I did hear from a little birdy that there was a purple one coming soon.  I can't wait!! I already have the pink & black versions.  I do hope that Totally Tiffany comes out with other colors.  I do like to color code manufacturers. I used to just mix everything together, but it got too hard to remember where each & every item came from.  Some items I have no clue where or who they're from because of gifts given or items found at garage sales and such.   My colors so far for organizing are:

    Pink = The Stamps of Life

    Purple = Crafter's Companion

    Dark Teal/Turquoise = Quick Quotes

    Red = Sizzix

    Black = Stampin' Up

    Aqua = Creative Memories

    Orange = Close to My Heart

    Grey = Spellbinders

    Minty Green = Echo Park/Carta Bella

    Green = Other Companies or Unknown

    I may change or add more colors as I go into organizing my craft room this year.

My other goals are

*To participate in at least 4 challenges a week

*Keep up with my subscriptions and use product with in 60 days of getting it.

Let's see how 2022 goes.

Scrap Saturday - Quick Quotes

December's Club Q finally showed up on Monday.  I knew I was going to dig right into the kit once I saw the amazing papers.

I ended up making both of the page kits today.  I could not stop working on the layouts.  They were so easy to do.  I did not even make that many changes to the page design, which is HIGHLY unusual for me.  I tend to use kits as a base to make my own version of it. I did however still gut the papers if a large section was covered.

DP 1245 - Merry Christmas

With this kit the 'snow' die cuts were very thin and did not look right on the page, so I layered the thicker humps across both pages to mimic snow.  I changed the red flower paper to a tone-on-tone paper from the bonus pack. The Merry Christmas is popped up on foam

DP1246 - The Joy of Christmas

This page kit was the one I had the hiccup with- the quote was missing from the kit.  I improvised and used a vellum quote that was included in the bonus pack. The only other change was I used a .5-inch piece of the blue to overlay the top & bottom of the page to look like washi

Back at it again... I hope.

 I am back... I hope I am back at it again. Life just seems to get in the way sometimes.  I did become a Creative Memories Advisor in the ho...
